The modern fleet of mobile cranes includes the largest based on the far south coast of New South Wales.
The versatility has been proven over the years with lifts ranging from the smallest to the largest and have included a 300kg compressor, to a Volvo round-the-world yacht, and the complexity of concrete wall panels.
Sapphire Coast Cranes (SCC) pride themselves in providing a safe and efficient crane hire service that has the capacity to service the entire region.
Roger Stanley established SCC over 25 years ago and has grown the owner/operator business from a single 20 ton crane to now having three cranes, with a new 70 ton unit arriving in February 2018.
· 85 ton Linkbelt crane (largest crane on the Far South Coast)
This machine was imported from the USA and is the largest crane available for hire. It features a main boom of 43 metres, a maximum hook height of 70 metres and an outreach of 64 metres. It is a truck crane able to travel efficiently over all south east Australian roads.
· 70 ton Tadano (all terrain crane)
This new crane has been in service as a brand new machine since late 2018. The new Tadano is the next generation and is part of a continual rotation of plant and equipment upgrades. Its specifications are: made in Germany, has a main boom length of 52 metres with a total hook height of 70 metres and an outreach of 46 metres. Eight-wheel drive eight-wheel steer. This is a very capable off-road machine.
· 20 ton Franna
The baby of the fleet is a 20 ton Franna. It provides that small crane capacity that is so necessary in a business of our size. It is versatile and very cost effective for those smaller jobs.
Ancillary services:
· 12 ton Tilt Tray
The tilt tray truck included in the fleet is capable of carrying 12 tons and loads things such as machinery, tractors, site sheds and containers.
If someone can be described as passionate about cranes and the challenges of complex lifts it has to be Roger Stanley.
Is his early 20’s he started as a ‘doggy’ with a crane hire operation on the North coast. He then moved his talents to Bega and took the leap by purchasing a well-used 20 ton mobile crane. Through his skill and hard work, he has developed that early start 25 years ago into what Sapphire Coast Cranes is today. It’s a crane hire business with literally millions of dollars invested in assets, an absolute focus on safety and the capability to provide customers with an efficient and reliable crane service.
Roger doesn’t do this alone and one of the strengths of this business are his two key employees. They are long serving members of the team, one 15 years the other 10, and they both have the same focus on safety, reliability and efficiency in their commitment to Sapphire Coast Cranes.
